sydney harbour bridge climb Ayshim, 27 January 20065 March 2024 Sydney Harbour bridge climb is one of many fantastic things any visitor should experience while in Sydney. It is also something that celebrities do. I saw Nicole Kidman’s photo up there on the company’s wall. Just saying… Let’s face it Sydney Harbour Bridge is an iconic spot with the world’s largest steel arch, and you get to walk on it! How cool is that? Here’s how the climb happens: You arrive at the designated time. They spend quite a bit of time with the group, explaining all the security measures they need to take. They give you special clothes, a walkie-talkie to communicate with your guide and listen to the narration while you’re climbing. You’re securely tied to each other like a long stream of people as well as to the bridge. Who’s allowed to climb?Anyone with a medium fitness level can climb the bridge. It takes over 3.5 hours of physical exertion and you’ll be covering a distance like 1.75km. Do you need to be fit to climb Harbour bridge? The answer is ‘yes’. And if you’re 75 years of age, or over, you can climb with a certificate of fitness signed by your GP. Once you are up there and ready to climb, your guide (I believe they’re called climb leaders but let’s not get technical here) gives you information—interesting facts, to be precise—about Sydney Harbour Bridge, its engineering and the cultural history. You climb with your group all the way up to top which is halfway through the arch. The view is spectacular, even breathtaking. At that point you realise what kind of a beautiful city Sydney is. This is also the point where they take your photos as a group as well as individually. Ours was a couple photo which you can see below. After the photo session, you walk across the bridge and descend from the other side so that you won’t bump into other climber groups. This was an unforgettable experience. I think everyone else in group agreed. This is our group photo above. We also have a climb certificate each. Bloody expensive, bloody worth it 🙂 For tickets, go to their website. life in sydney australiabridge climbsydneysydney harbour bridge
