dining in byron bay: no bones Ayshim, 18 February 202618 February 2026 We knew that dining in Byron Bay was going to be a breeze but we were not expecting to find a fully vegan restaurant just around the corner of our accomodation. No Bones was literally just around the corner! No Bones is a heaven for plant-based diners and more. The place has been around since 2018, and their food is colourful, sustainable, creative and absolutely delicious. It certainly earned its special place in a separate blog post. This was their menu when we were there. I believe it has evolved over time, as every time I look at their website, I find something new, something innovative. Here’s what we had at No Bones: Shiitake Pate: Shiitake mushroom, truffle + cognac served with pickled gherkins and a baguette. I really liked this dip, but unfortunately, it is not on their current menu. Watermelon Tartare: Watermelon marinated in soy and ginger and served with nori rice crisps.Who would have thought to turn humble watermelon into a tartare? In the middle of summer (we were there in February), watermelon anything is exactly what you need. Those were our starters. As for the main(s), we had: Fried Chik’n: Mock chicken with kung pao glaze, peanuts and chilli aioli. Spicy Red Curry: Roasted pumpkin, eggplant, capsicum, kaffir lime, coconut, Thai herbs served with coconut rice and roti. As for the dessert, my husband had: Ferrero: ‘Benilato’ hazelnut gelato, chocolate soil, hazelnut chard, dark chocolate granache.
