dining in bath, uk Ayshim, 8 January 20258 January 2025 Dining in Bath was a total breeze as if the city hadn’t provided beautiful sites such as The Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, River Avon, Old Victoria Station, Kingsmead Square and street musicians. Finding vegetarian food as it is with pretty much everywhere in the UK wasn’t a drama for us. Here’s some of those places where we had the opportunity to dine in Bath during our trip: Thai BalconyOur very first dinner in Bath and Thai Balcony was so close to where we were staying, and they had a vegetarian set menu which we really liked the look of. Here’s their vegetarian set menu in details: Starters: Satay Bean curd Mushroom, Spring Roll, Deep Fried Mixed Vegetables (below). Mains: Vegetable Green Curry, Sweet and Sour Vegetables, Bean curd with Ginger served with rice (below). Vino VinoVino Vino is a wine and cocktail bar with a good selection of sharing boards, artisan cheese and tapas style plates. Even though they had a good selection of vegetarian dishes, we opted for something a little bit ‘light’ for the night. So, we had a selection of cheese served with crackers, onion chutney, cheese and pickle butter, fig jam, honey and membrillo. Zizzi, BathZizzi, Bath is part of Zizzi Italian Restaurants all over UK as well as Ireland. They’re everywhere, basically and incredibly convenient. They make rustica pizzas and the vegetarian one we had (twice) was quite something. Goat’s cheese, artichokes, spinach, fire-roasted peppers, olives, mozzarella, Sunblush tomatoes, rocket and Genovese pesto. Breakfast at Boston Tea PartyI had my birthday breakfast here and it looks like this: Oak RestaurantI picked Oak Restaurant way before we travelled to the UK because it is one of those iconic vegetarian restaurants around that area. They grow their own vegetables—sustainably—and create modern veggie dishes with them. They also have a grocery store facility attached to the restaurant and I must admit the whole place is located in this charming courtyard with a huge tree in the middle—oak tree, perhaps? The courtyard is surrounded by Bath’s oldest buildings and this beautiful restaurant is located in one of them. The menu is seasonal and changes often. We decided to have a 5-course feast—as they call it—with wine pairing. Here’s what we had: Nocellara olives, spiced almondsPickled carrot, fermented cashewPaired with Oniric Pet-Nat, Entre Vinyes Soup of the day, paired with Moscatel, Folias De Baco and hummus, harissa, chickpeas (below).
