badde manors was badde Ayshim, 22 September 202422 September 2024 This was my first time at Badde Manors. I have been hearing about it since I moved to Sydney but never really made an effort to try the place out. Until last night… It was the night that we were going to Sappho’s to listen Hayley Holgate. We took our friends with us thinking that it would be nice to have dinner at Badde Manors first and then go and have a night full of music. I mean, really good music. Those places are just around the corner from each other so getting to the live music scene from the restaurant would be easy. That’s what you’d think, wouldn’t you? I had my doubts—based on the limited English the waitress had on the phone—whether or not our reservation was there but thank God it was! So, they showed us our table. And, it was small! We were squashed, I mean all 4 of us to a tiny table whereas a table of 3 had the biggest table available. It was uncomfortable, to say the least. And they finally took our order and 20 minutes later, I mean 20 minutes after our orders were taken, we were informed that one of the dishes we ordered wasn’t available. It was my order. I wondered how it would take 20 minutes to realise that but anyway I ordered their ‘signature’ lasagne instead. And waited and waited… After 45 minutes, we had a terrible dinner. My salad didn’t have a dressing and it was dull. My lasagne was soupy. The others were not impressed with their food, either. And we were late for the performance so that made it difficult to find a decent table at Sappho’s to finally sit down and relax. Later on, I found out that it was their chef’s last night there and we were the victims of his last bad performance. They may have someone better now, but I still don’t see myself going back there in a hurry. Haley’s performance on the other hand was spectacular.
