practical tips to avoid covid-19 Ayshim, 7 April 20205 March 2024 Hi Everyone!I know that I have not been active here recently. It’s partly because personal reasons like losing my beloved dog: Olly but mostly because I was studying health & nutrition coaching, Naturopathy, holistic health, vegan nutrition and professional life coaching and building the website for my upcoming health & nutrition coaching business. Since the coronavirus pandemic started, I thought, I would write a post with practical tips to help avoid infection during this incredibly sad and relentless time. Some of these tips may seem like common knowledge but it’s always good to have a reminder. So, here it is… Wash your hands regularly with soap and warm water for 20 seconds minimum. Minimise contact with the outside world and its inhabitants physically. Wear a good quality mask when you’re out and about. Avoid touching your face. The average person touches their face several hundred times per day. A large percentage of human respiratory tract infections are thought to be transmitted via contaminated hand contact with the mouth, eyes, and/or nostrils. Do not shake hands with anyone. Carry tissues, antibacterial wipes and hand sanitisers with you at all times. If you need to cough or sneeze, try to do so into your upper sleeve or elbow to prevent getting germs on your hands. Minimise contact with those who are already showing signs of illness. Avoid sharing personal items with others including toothbrushes, towels, cutlery, plates, food, and drinks. Maintain a healthy environment by regularly cleaning kitchen and bathroom counter-tops, tabletops, and any other well used surfaces. When you bring groceries inside wipe, clean and wash everything. I mean everything! Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water which can help flush germs and viruses out of your body. Avoid caffeine and alcohol as it can dehydrate you. In my next post, I will talk about mucous membranes. So, stay tuned, Peoples. Medical Disclaimer: All information contained in this blog is for informational purposes only.
