today, i’d like to talk to you about romance scams Ayshim, 1 December 20235 March 2024 Today, I’d like to talk to you about romance scams. Why? Because it’s an epidemic that has grown massively—especially around the time of pandemic—and there are a lot of victims of this heinous crime all around the world. Why the interest, you may want to ask? Well, I was contacted with one scammer during the pandemic who tried to scam me. The whole process took for months. They call this period ‘adult grooming’ or ‘love bombing’ and I will talk about the whole process and how we determined the real location of my own scammer in another post. So, what happened was the fact that I had the first-hand experience with a romance scammer to a certain degree. When I say ‘to a certain degree’ what I mean by that is I didn’t give him any penny because I’m happily married and I wasn’t looking for any romantic relationship at the time. But one thing led to another and I met a lot of sufferers—mainly women—and after hearing their stories, I decided to write a book about it. The book I’m writing is fiction but let me tell you this: you just cannot believe how much truth goes into fiction. It may be fiction but fiction writes still write about truth. That’s how it works, really. Your research basically shapes up the whole book and your research is all about truth. As part of my own research, I created fake accounts to talk to real-time scammers. It’s amazing how fast they find you and how fast you find them. I wish they knew what kind of material they willingly handed over to me while they were just ‘doing their job’. Through my fake accounts, I met several scammers who would even do more than romance scams. I will share all of that in other posts and I will use real conversations I had with them. So, stay tuned. romance scams cyber securityromance scammers
